HVAC-R Job Growth
At OTC, we offer a program for our students to study to become HVAC-R technicians.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of jobs for this industry is expected to grow by 15% from 2016 to 2026. The demand for HVAC-R technicians is growing rapidly.
But what exactly is HVAC-R? This acronym stands for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. These elements collectively refer to the regulation of indoor environments.
Responsibilities of an HVAC-R technician include equipment installation, maintenance, issue diagnosis, and repair.
As a student of our HVAC-R program, you will learn elements of basic electricity, become familiar with refrigeration systems, understand air distribution, and learn to troubleshoot HVAC-R equipment. The training provided is hands-on and includes various systems, so you will have plenty of experience. Our program provides a toolkit to students at the beginning of their coursework, and another kit upon graduation.
We believe in learning by doing. Check out our HVAC-R program under our Programs tab!
