Tulsa, Okla., (November 17, 2017) – Oklahoma Technical College will be holding an unveiling ceremony for a new Purple Heart Recipient Parking Spot on Friday, November 17th at 10:30 am.
Decorated World War II hero and recipient of two purple stars, Paul Andert, will be participating in the ribbon cutting and then speaking to students afterward. Mr. Andert served as an infantry platoon sergeant in the 41st Armored Infantry, Company B during the majority of his time in the Army. He lives in Tulsa and is the author of several books including Unless You Have Been There.
“These spots serve an extremely important purpose. They are reserved for veterans who’ve been wounded in combat. It’s our way of showing respect and gratitude for those who have given so much for our Freedom,” said Leonda Clements, Senior Financial Aid Specialist and Veterans School Certifying Official.
Oklahoma Technical College has been named a Top 10 Military Friendly and Military Spouse Friendly College for their commitment to veterans and their families.
A parking spot will be designated at all three college campuses.
