The Business & Industry Management Program is comprised exclusively of business classes:
Students who pursue this program are typically seeking to broaden their opportunities within their specific industry for promotions, the potential for increased pay, and job flexibility. After completion of the program, students will have an Associate of Occupational Science in Business & Industry Management Degree
How does an Associate of Occupational Science (AOS) degree differ from an Associate of Science (AS) degree?
Community Care College offers a career-focused degree called an Associate of Occupational Science (AOS). Unlike an Associate of Science (AS) degree that covers a broad range of general education courses, the AOS degree concentrates on business-specific classes. Students not seeking a bachelor’s degree in the future find the AOS degree to be a favorable alternative. While credits may transfer to some institutions, the AOS is not designed as a bridge to a bachelor’s degree. It is a stand-alone degree program.
Students typically apply their business knowledge in their specific degree field. For those pursuing the 2 year degree, notable employers of our graduates include:
Tulsa Public School
Saied Music Company
Depending on the student’s educational background, there are two options for the degree program:
• Diploma In Hand: Graduates with a diploma from one of Oklahoma Technical College’s or Community HigherEd’s eligible programs or from an external college* are eligible for the shorter Associate degree program. Courses are offered residentially or online and can be completed in as little as 10 months.
• No Diploma: Students who have not completed a college-level diploma before, you can enroll in this program to earn an Associate of Occupational Science degree in Business and Industry Management in as little as 20 months. Additional courses include additional topics such as entrepreneurship, project management, professional development, etc.
*Acceptable diplomas from external colleges must total at least 30 semester credit hours.
In your courses, you also will develop your own business plan, like an owner or manager.
With easy access to your instructor via phone, email, text, chat, and one-on-one meetings, this program is a perfect fit for those looking to complete school on their own time while working or managing a family. Additionally, each course can be catered to a student’s specific industry so that the information is relevant, applicable, and interesting. The broad knowledge of business also lays a foundation for those seeking future entrepreneurial endeavors.
While this program is offered on our main campus, Community Care College, this program is still designed with OTC students in mind. You’ll get the same quality education and CARES culture at our CCC campus that you got here at our OTC campus.
